Trying Something New
It’s a long story, having much to do with technical difficulties and my cheapness, but the point is this: this website is moving.
If you are one of the two people who reads this blog, please change your RSS subscription or bookmark to http://didyouhavejuice.wordpress.com. This new site will combine this site (my book blog) and my journal (Kate’s Journal). I’ve already posted a new journal entry and two new book reviews – check them out!
Again – Outside of a Dog is now Did You Have Juice? and will no longer be updated at this location.
Jon, Alone
One of the funniest blogs I’ve come across in recent time is “Garfield Minus Garfield” by a guy calling himself Travors. Basically Travors has gone through old Garfield comics, Photoshopped out all of the characters except Jon Arbuckle, and posted the result as is. As Travors states on his site, “Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life?” It’s so good that even Garfield creator Jim Davis reads and enjoys it.
Today’s “Garfield Minus Garfield” is especially good. I had to share:
Out of nowhere…
Happy “International Day of the Book”!
(I’m still alive, and am planning some posts. Finally had a chance to do some reading, hooray!)
Books are good for you.
Another great Threadless shirt (alas, sold out, or I’d definitely buy it!).
Great Shirt, Insubstantial Post
Anyone want a seriously hott library-themed shirt? Try this one (on sale for $10 through Dec. 16!):
Holy Cow.
For the first time in a few months, I just finished a book.
An entire book.
Not a textbook, either – pure, unadulterated fiction. And nothing required in tenth grade English, either.
Wow.
Feels good!
Guess that’s the benefit of getting sick… gives you an excuse to get some reading done! 🙂
